Default 89 crx fuel gauge question

    hi all,

i think my rex's fuel gauge sending unit (or whatever) is going south. i know the engine is tuned up ok, but the km's travelled do not reflect the fuel useage. its all over the place, and has been for a while now. i know the gauge, or something to do with the gauge/fuel level float, is inaccurate

i was wondering if anyone knew of obvious failures/problems with these units, and how hard it is to check/clean/repair/replace.

any help or nudge in the right direction is much appreciated.

    thx,

    rico

on my car, u can access it from the trunk. why dont u check a repair manual for your car?

as for the senders....id look around for one in a junkyard as these arent common products for aftermarket manufacturers to make...and i bet itd be super expensive from the dealer.
