Default Damn balding issues when you are young...

Alright Im sure I`ll get a wee bit flamed but Im starting to get some hair loss at 23, mainly receeding hairline . If anyone has tried any of those `rogain`products or anything list em off with sucess/failure rates etc. Im not down for trying to pull off the bald head guy look.

Nioxin - minimal results, hair didn't seem as thin during styling after a few weeks use, probably all in my head though - you know how these things are.

I personally don't have a "baldness" issue going on, but I do notice my hair thinning out a bit, so any preventative measures or opinions are appreciated by myself as well. I wish it wouldn't be something that would bother me, but at only 22 you start to worry how fast its going to happen IF its going to happen.

I started balding like a mutherfawker at around 20. Every morning I'd wake up to a bunch of hair on my pillow. When I met my wife at 23, her sister is a hair stylist, and recommended Nioxin.

I haven't grown any hair back, and it is still going (hereditary), but the rate it's going is down to a BARE MINIMUM (I'm 31 now). I think I was just using shite products my whole life, and that's what kick started the balding.

There is no baldness cure, but try Nioxin to stop the loss of what you have.

It's only hair -- it's nowhere near the heart.

    Saw Palmetto and Hair Loss

I've noticed the early stages of thinning (I'm 25), and now I'm taking 2 of these a day. Just started a week ago, I guess I'll let you guys know how it turns out in a couple of months.

Your options are basically limited to:
    1) Try to find a way to grow your hair back, or
    2) Make more money.

Isn't there a surgical option available? Or what about that laser clinic I always hear about.

I'm in the same boat at 23 and it sucks, my dad gave me his shitty genes LOL. I tried Nioxin and it didn't really do anything for me. Honestly I don't wash my hair as much as I used to (which was daily) and the balding has slowed down a lot. I've often thought about just shaving it or getting a really short buzz, but I'm sure I'll have plenty of years for that shit

I have really thick hair, but balding has always been a worry for me even though I have no hereditary baldness in my family I always use Nioxin.

But really if your fighting it pretty hard, its not a bad idea just to shave it off. It looks worse when you fight it, and for some people the shaved look is awesome.

Since you are young have you tried Laser therapy? Worked very well for a friend of mine who was balding severely in his late teens, he did the treatments for a couple of months and now has a great head of hair (like Roger Moore if you will)

Lots of myths associated with, which family member most likely gave certain genes vs. others. Genetics is anything but a certainty.

I wasn't saying it was your mother's genetics, I was insulting you.

lol , hmm, I always thought it was fact, you are right though, genetics is a crap shoot.

No significant differences were found between cases and controls in allele, genotype, or haplotype frequencies for restriction fragment length polymorphisms of either gene. These findings suggest that the genes encoding the two 5alpha-reductase isoenzymes are not associated with male pattern baldness.

Too bad I can't give you any of mine. Mine is so thick the hairdresser I go too has to thin it every time I go. Also makes the clipper sound like it's about to either blow up or stall...

Why not try those hair replacement things where they put in real hair at the receding hair line?

There is nothing you can do about going bald. Its genetics man.

Don't fall for the bullshit hair products, if they really worked why are people still going bald?

I would say don't be a pussy... man up and shave/buzz your head!

Is your self image tied to your hair?

Woke up one day in my 20's, thought about all the time and money wasted on my hair already to that point, plus until the day I died, and promptly shaved my head. In my life, I have more important things to do than worry about hair everyday, buzz it twice/week and I am good to go!
