not likely buddy. a paint booth is both huge and expensive to operate. thats why body shops have them, and people working out of their garage dont.
there may be some places you can RENT, but you'd be hard pressed to find some everyday joe with a booth.
that's what i figured, but i do have a few people that i know in vancouver that have thier own because they are constantly doing something to their cars or bikes. not as much of that here. thanks anyways
There's some guys down in Ogden, I think they're called Zuly's. They're just off of Ogden Rd. I rented their booth for 100 bucks a couple years ago. It's a pretty lousy booth, poor light etc, but if you're just doing a bumper it should be fine.
should be able to do that in your home garage too i dont see what the problem could be
The problem with a garage is dust. It shows up in the paint and looks like ass. Unless you have a good exhaust fan hooked up it's almost impossible to get rid of it. That's the point of the booth. But if you have to paint in your garage somtimes soaking the place with water helps keep the dust down.
^^
yah i did that on part of my old car
just put primer on sand it a little then another coat then paint sand a little than paint again...i ran out of paint to finish it but it still looked pretty good and couldnt see any dust or particles under the paint
ohh yah and i did some parts outside heh just on a nonwindy day.
dont you need to have like a day to paint your car? or is it just a few hours?
Homer:YVAN EHT NIOJ, gotta dig that carzy corus.
Lisa: But wat does it mean?
Homer: It doesnt mean anything, just like RAMALAMA DING DONG or GIVE PEACE A CHANCE!
i need a couple of days to paint my bumper. and im just gonna ship it off to my friend for him to do it, cheaper that way, but it'll take about a week round trip. oh well.
what color is the bumper going to be?
red, same as it is right now, but it's tri-stage, so base, then metal fleck, then clear
^^dang! got any pics of the entire car? Haven't seen a met. red tri-stage Accord yet!
adding flake is not a tri stage paint job.
if you have very little to no paint experience especially with tri stage (if thats what it is) i recommend taking it to professionals or learn the hard way.
sorry dude, not trying to cut you down, but candys are very difficult colors to spray.
but for sure post some pics of your car.
i have a heated shop, my buddy just finished painting his car in there. just staples plastic to the roof and makes a box in my shop. set temperature to whatever is necessary. i could rent it to you
u-wrench in Calgary also rents out their paint booth at quite a reasonable cost. I haven't been there to see the conditions though. I was told it is a proper well-lit downdraft booth.
what kind of car do you have please post pics would like to see.
