Just saw it tonight with my gf. I have to say it was pretty impressive, excellent cast, great story, and hardcore battles.
I give it an A++ Everybody should check it out.

My girl liked it alot. I dunno most girls like Colin Farell so I'm sure she'll be content. It defintiely got some gore and violence but any good epic requires this.

    http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/alexander/

A very low 15% approval from critics.

Read some of the reviews, they are just brutal. :

Whoever watches a movie because there is someone "hot" in it is a complete whore.

    ^ haha

My buddy went to the sneak preview, and said it was absolute crap. He didn't really like Troy though, i thought it kicked ass
He said he thought Troy was 10x better than Alexander..
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”
    —Cicero, Roman statesman and lawyer

ya... I read rottentomatoes yesterday and the rating was at 13% and Louis B Hobson gave it 4 outta 5 stars. So pretty mixed ratings. That's why I was wondering who had seen it.

I'm going to watch both Alexanders!

I think Louis B. Hobson likes every movie that comes out. His reviews aren't that insightful. I'd check out what Peter Travers of Rolling Stone has to say.

hmm.. I find Hobson finds every big name director or movie star's movies good... but I've seen him give 2.5 for people who aren't well known

I find I disagree with critics quite a bit so I've learned to ignore them and if I think it looks like a good movie, I watch it...alexander looks like a great movie so I intend to see it

Friend: "Hey man, wanna go see Alexander tomorrow?"
The Royal We: "Pass. I'm not sitting through another 3 hour piece of shit like Troy was."

On the plus side, the review in the Herald was pretty funny.
