Counter-Strike Dudes -- Tech Question -- Loading Problems...

So yah... I was sick of using other people's cd-keys and what not... always a pisser to find out that "someone else is using that cd-key... you are disconnected..." blah, blah, blah. Anyways... I went out and bought the actual fricken game. Here's the thing. Went to install it... and well... the cd-key that they gave me in this unopened box (still sealed -- or what appeared to be sealed) says that "this particular" cd-key is currently in use.

I'm like... "what the hell... no, this is a brand new version.."!

Grrr... someone tell me what the problem might me... and/or a solution or fix in regards to this. It asked me once for my cd-key... but unless I uninstall and then reinstall... it looks like I don't have a chance to type the key in again...

you can always do a regedit, and find the key in the registry and change it like that. the CS key is quite easy to find, just takes some time, look into the valve or sierra directory. pm me if u still need help

peter go in regedit (start-> run -> regedit -> ok)

Left hand side should show --> HKey current user click it and search for -> software -> valve -> counter-strike -> settings

then look on the right hand side
and double click on 'key'
and change that number into your new counterstrike cd key
