Cubase Sx 2

hey guys, i am a TOTAL newb to the music production scene, and i really have no idea how to use this software.....like can this be used as a basic looping system where i can incoroporate like a bass beat pattern, and synths, and snares etc... and shit like that......or would i need to get diff software for that?...and if cubase is right for me how do i add these patterns to my project

my brother uses this stuff
he said something like he does all the producing using a program called Reason then he transfers it all over to Cubase after.

Good luck though, thats all the information I can give you for now but I'll ask him later on for more info.

I'll probably start producing mid-next year too.

thx a lot man, i'll really appreciate it if u could find out for me......but it seems like cubase is more for editing than it is actual production, just like ur bro said he uses reason then cubase...
