Rode Revy Nov 27 - *POWDER* - Pics

We rode Frisby Ridge on Friday and Saturday. Myself and another rider found deep snow, but visability was poor and we got stuck a lot, and I mean a lot. I ended up in a hole and had to dig down to the ground around my sled (~6' deep).

Yesterday (Saturday), was a lot better for lighting. I had a great time and didn't damage anything (except my camera lens which I destroyed slipping on Revy ice in town after a few beers).

What do you guys carry for safety? Have you done any avalanche courses?

My uncle wants to take me up into the mountains on his sleds but says I'd have to carry Peeps and take an avalanche course.

My Dad, Brother, and I have avy training, probes, shovels, transcievers.

I want to get more training this winter. Avalanches scare the shit out of me.

No doubt, even with all the training in the world you're not safe. My uncle has has told me a couple stories about floating down the hill in the middle of an avalanche, doesn't sound like the most fun leisure activity.

Looks like hella fun though I wish I had the opportunity to go out and play like that.

one of my closest friends lost his dad 2 years ago to an avalanche, even worse, we watched it happen.
