    Default Stealing E36 Parts?

So, I scrape together all my money (and borrow the rest) to buy a nice '94 320i this week, and what happens? I've had the car in my driveway in Chestermere for 3 days, I go out this morning and some greasy little shit has stolen my front signal lights... and they were not even clear ones!!!! The worst part is that he cut the wire and took the bulb harness with it (might be what he was after in the first place). How the hell do I fix that????

Is there some sort of “black market” for E36 parts in Calgary? Even more surprising is the fact that I live in Chestermere and there’s not a lot of BMW’s out here anyway. Damn punks!

You are no better than the guy who stole your signals.
Why would you even look for a "black market"?
Why not settle for buying a used or even a new harness?

What I meant to say was... are E36 parts popular with punk theives?
If so, I think I probably should have bought a Volvo instead!

Ok I took it the wrong way, I feel like an ass now, sorry dude.

Its gonna be hard to come across stock ambers, considering they are a dime a dozen.

Shitty to hear but here's a helpful reply.

Click to get all part numbers shown in the pic below. Print this and take it to the dealer.

I believe you need these parts, but you will have to confirm this with the dealer.

    Item 01 LEFT TURN INDICATOR P/N 63138353279 - Qty 1
    Item 01 RIGHT TURN INDICATOR P/N 63138353280 - Qty 1
    Item 02 BULB SOCKET P/N 63131384100 - Qty 2
    Item 03 BULB P/N 07119978384 - Qty 2
    Item 12 PLUG HOUSING P/N 61131378410 - Qty 2
(see pic below) CIRCULAR CONNECTOR P/N 61130007441 - Qty 6

You can easily find used orange blinker housings, as many owners change to white or clear. The bulb is just a standard 1157-type bulb available anywhere.

Here's a picture of the circular connector shown as Item 1. The wires that were cut on your car will have to be spliced into the new connectors, and wires may have to be lengthened. Solder the splice and use heat-shrink.

    Good luck with your repair.

Dont bother going to the friggin $tealer for these parts. I would recommend that you try to get the parts used at Manchester Auto. They have a few E36's out back. Ask for Gaelin, the guy is a friggin BMW parts guru. Tell him Alex sent you, chances are youll get a better deal.

I hear that! Have done "thousands" of dollars worth of business with them and they can be pricey. I have established a business relationship with the owners and staff and have been able to source many hard to find Euro BMW parts over the years. But as for going to Calgary BMW/BMW Gallery, your better off trying to get these simple parts used Manchester or not! 1 word of advice, be armed with a price from the dealer to make sure your not being taken when buying used...

I went and got the wire w/ plug, socket and amber lenes from manchester today ($30 per side), but one bulb socket had a broken clip, so I got a new one from calgary BMW for $25. I'm going to fix it tomorrow. Actually, I'm debating weather or not I should just get some clear corners from Tunner Works... but I guess that would just make me more of a "midnight auto-wrecking" target.
