NEED!! Interior design ideas!

I bought a house and were doing carpet, lino/tile/laminate and painting all the walls before we move in. Does anybody know any sites that has pictures of modern up to date designs??? I haven't had much luck finding anything. Anybody have any good ideas for color..etc...?? I need a little stimulation getting the creative muscle going.

turn on the tv . it's annoying how many of those stupid design shows are on .... until u need one!!

and i was in the same boat as u a few weeks ago redesigning my living room . and i used a combination of watching lots of design shows and MS VIsio (for layout)

the most important part i learnt was traffic flow . i didn't realize until i created a path for people to get through .. compared to holding everyone in. does that make sense?

but anyway, yah watch those shows and use programs like MS Visio or if you know of any design programs use them. MS Visio does have design templates and you can specify the geometry in inches or CM of everything including the room, windows, etc ..

There are many differenct styles out there, the best way to look at them all is go to Chapters and look for the home improvement mag's.

Go walk through showhomes. they are all fully decorated and usually look very good

don't follow "up to date" trends

you have to see what mood you want for the room, and the look you're going for..

I could think of plenty of colors that would be nice for a dining room, for exmaple..but it totally depends on what you're trying to convey (and your furniture, and lighting, etc)..and what you even like

do you like distinctive colors/rooms, or more neutral everything!?

just think of what furniture you're going to use, and paintings, etc and go from there

and don't go down the laminate floor path!, unless it's a laundry room
