Default Ultimate Guide to Ghetto Mods

I'm sure we have all either cut/clamped the springs to lower the ride or at least had a friend do it.

I'm currently considering cutting the top of my shifter off to turn it into a Short Shifter(at least a shorter shifter). Its ghetto I know but its not like anyone is gonna hop in my ride and say "Damn you cut your shifter shorter..... thats mad ghetto..."

My *ahem*"friend" put Christmas lights under the dashboard and under the car which looked aight but quickly went the way of ghetto mod when it started to flash in sync with christmas tunes...

The new hype is spray painting your windows black instead of tinting them. Only the true "playa's" of the game do it.

Hahaha Those were the days. I swear we have at least 5 decks of cards in our house that are missing the kings because the best motorcycle noises come from the kings

Even BMW M5 owners are not immune to ghetto mods, although this Home Depot sink drain mod works quite well for the intake and brake duct.
    Another one.

The resonator removal by the guy w/ the M5 was pretty ghetto!
Why not weld the damn pipes, not just use Permatex and exhaust clamps.

When I first got my 89 auto TBI 2.0 Cavalier I made a ram air intake from same dryer hose and clamps. Besides making a cool noise it overheated my engine while coming back from the mountains. The tow-truck guy wondered why I was pulling all this dryer hose from my engine bay and I told him "More power man, more power".

    End of story

cut the top part of (above pivot ball)
reweild on a small piece with the threads so you can put the shift knob back on the top. take the other part that you have left over and cut off the bottom and then reweld it back together with the piece you had from the top.

The sad thing is that so many guys think this is true. I had a friend tell me that he couldn't get a girlfriend until he got his car back on the road!

The fact is for the most part girls don't really care about the car, it's not like they'll jump in the car as soon as they see it without even knowing whos inside.

Actually it seems the more crap you put on your car or the louder it sounds the gurls just flock to the car like fleas to stink..... We've all seen dudes rev their cars in the parking lot and all kinds of chickenheads would run over to see what was going on, like it was a damn mating call or something.....

Also for the short shift I know 3 people that have done it and it still works good.

I have done my fair share of getto mods, having a talon it just seems to ask for it. My favorite one is the gas shut off valve as a boost controller. I have mentioned this before though. Talons have an entire list of "free mods" or getto mods. The difference from most getto mods is that they actually do increase power.

As far as hacking the top of your nob off, it will increase the distance your arm has to travel when you shift. I will be shorter though.

    Yeah...seen it in the movies.

I don't know, but if a girl "flocks" because of the sound or volume of your car then I don't wanna be around her stankin ass.

Wow....I'm still trying to figure out how it over heated your engine. Was it blocking the Rad?
