about 8.5 % I think
so 8.5 % and then 7 % for gst...anything else? i know not to ship ups because of brokage....does fedex or those guys have brokage?Originally posted by Clem

Everytime I ship stuff with Fedex, no matter how large, all I ever pay is 7% GST on the declared value, and yes like you said, avoid UPS, they suck and tend to break things and on top of that, charge an arm and a leg on brokerage fees.

I haven't shipped anything major over the border, most was probably ~$800usd worth of stuff, mostly electronics and other computer hardware.

I recommend FedEx over UPS as well.
If you do use UPS you have to call canada customs and tell them what you are getting shipped and they'll tell you how much duties/taxes you have to pay etc.
