    Question BMW Radio remover tool

Any ideas on where I can get the funky allan-key req'd to remove a e36 radio? The light went out on the display and now I can't see track #, etc. Pain in the ass.

When I pulled mine out, I just used a standard allen key. If you try this and it doesn't work, swing by a electronics store and get one of the install guys to lend you the tool.

I took mine out with a standard allen key. I took it out like 6 months or a year ago and just recently I put it back in. Just for anybody's information...initially the deck doesn't work when you reinstall it. You have to take the registration and pink slip into the dealership and they give you a code to input. It's some kind of security feature of the E36 stock headunits.

    Default BMW radio

What do you have to replace once you get the radio out? Is it a light bulb? Do you know the part number?
