    Default Losing liscences, demerits, etc...

1:How many demerits does it take to lose your liscence? How long is it gone for?
2:How many demerits does it take to get your liscence suspended? How long is it gone for?
3:How many demerits are taken off for speeding at 20 over? 30 over?
4: At what point are you considered "high risk" to insurance companies?

Just some questions I have. I couldn't find the answers online anywhere.
    Thanks!

    arent #1 & 2 sorta the same ?

#2 i think when you are on your probationary license (first 2 years or something) you get up to 9 demerits, then at 10 they suspend your license, up to 14 with a normal class 5

    #3 15-30km/h over is about 3 demerits

#4 im not sure but i think after you get your license suspended or get a really serious ticket or crash you are considered high risk

im not completely sure so someone correct me if im wrong

It's 14 with ANY license. "Probationary" or not. At 9 demerits you get a letter urging you to look closly at your driving habits. There is a one month suspension at 14 demerits. When your license is brought back again, you have 7 demerits.

You're considered high risk when you have more than one claim generally...

For a regular license (not probationary), you get a notice in the mail if you hit 8 or more just as a warning.

You get suspended for a month when you hit 15 or more.

If you get suspended again within a year, the penalty is 3 months.

If it's your 3rd suspension within 2 years, you lose it for 6 months.

I heard it was only 9 demerits for probationary drivers. That's what AMA told me at the front office.

    Experience boys, experience. Here goes.

1 & 2) "It's 14 with ANY license. "Probationary" or not. At 9 demerits you get a letter urging you to look closly at your driving habits. There is a one month suspension at 14 demerits." - bol

yup yup and got that too...

    3) Its 1 demerit per 10 over limit up to a certain amount... then they go buck and hand out the reckless/careless/whut ever else one there is... doubling the limit is instant suspension is it not? some one told me that... never done it though.

    4) Ill give you a few..
    - Really bad ticket, DUI, Careless/reckless wut not.
    - Lisence suspension.
    - more than 3 claims... including people jacking your shit.
(I got kicked off on my third claim...) 1 was a theft.

It's 15 points, not 14... says right here in the Basic License Driver's Manual, page 85.
