    Default Xbox/PS2 + Projection TV= Bad?

Now I know on the older projection TV's they say it's bad to play a console on a projection TV because the non moving/non animated items like the spedo, or life bar etc... get burned in the screen.

But on the new HDTV 1080 ones today are new consoles like the xbox bad for them still?

I dunno....I read about the same thing years ago, but two of my friends (one with a 52", one with a 60+" projection) have had no problems with their games.

    HDTV

I don't think there should be a problem. Just don't leave the game idle and it should be fine.

You need to avoid games where the background color remains constant or there are elements that do not change often. On most modern games, this is not an issue.. I have a PS/2 hooked up to my HDTV projection screen and it has been fine.. be careful about hooking up a laptop to the screen, as you may suffer burn in if you use it too much.

Don't leave it idle for a long time or you can potentially hurt the TV as well..

Also, on an HDTV, make sure that you switch the games that support it to high definition and 16:9 (assuming the TV is widescreen). Makes a big difference Both games I have that support high definition require a special key combo on bootup, so you will have to check the manual.

So Endurance races on GT3 would be a bad idea then.

with Xbox you just specify it in the setup. It auto recognizes 1080 automatically I think.
