    Default new motor

ok well i offically worked it out and a b16 is not in my budget right now. seeing as how my car is seeming pretty tired these days i was talking to my buddy after work today and we decided to rebuild my motor completely, bore ,port& polish and all new after market parts. ok heres the deal he used to be an engine builder in edmonton and wants to help me out. my question is how much for new pistons, bearings and a camshaft. hes doing the honing and port and polish i need to get a pressure test done on my block first, anyone know how much this costs?

after all is said and done
what do you figure the parts will cost me? oh and by the way hes doing it for a 12 pack of heineken needless to say if my grammer and explaination is a bit off its cause we just drank a 12 pack
all help will be greatly appreciated.
and some listed prices if avalible

i dont have a problem with it, but....... thats a 4 yr commitment for a car that i might not like down the road, i kinda have a tendancey to change my mind very quickly and go through a few cars a yr. my civic and rx7 are the longest but i need a change. ie: faster or look different. so if i dont sell it paint and a new motor are a definate.

Might be cheaper to just get the B16 if you're looking at aftermarket internals and you'll probably see better gains with the B16.

hmmm well i just figured cause the rebuild would be cheaper for my budget, it might be a better "bang for my buck" i dont really have to change any driveline parts and the labour is free.

Rebuilding your internals is gonna help but your better off buying a DOHC.
