I drive a 98 GMC Suburban K2500 with a 7.4 L and it is a pig on gas. When I drive it to commute for a week (30 kms each way) it goes through near 7/8 tank of gas that is 160 liters. (so averaging 120-140 liters a week) It is great to drive though especially with a Banks power pack on it.
But I figured I was dumping so much money into the tank it would be more cost effective to use a small daily driver. Now I usually only drive it in the winter if my wife will be driving further than me.
You can't beat the Suburban for it's size. Great for hauling, great for moving junk, - it holds 4x8 sheets of plywood or sheet rock. A good all around truck.
