    Could be in valet mode.

Turn the ignition switch on and off (NOT START) 5 times within 8 seconds.

    Then try your remote start.

If that does not work will need a model number as there are lots of remote starts that use a 2 button remote as you described.

i have an NS-1054 installed in a car i just bought, the remote was not functioning when i got it... so i just took it and thought i could figure it out myself...

    Here's the manual
    http://www.nordicstart.ca/futureshop...%20english.pdf

I got the remote programmed to the car, and it works fine to lock and unlock, but then i try to remote start, i get one long flash, which i assume is simply "command received" followed by 4 fast flashes.... i cant really see anything on the manual for this... i did try the tach reprogram thing because at first i thought it could be 5 fash flashes, but that didn't help any... any suggestions?

    Is the vehicle a diesel?

If yes, you must program the unit to diesel mode.

If not, the unit is seeing 12V on the brake wire upon ignition. Check your tailight bulbs, if they are burnt, but not burnt out, they sometimes feed the brake light when the parklights come on.

Test the brake wire with a test light, turn on the parklights and see if you are getting any feed to the brake wire.

Use the remote start and see if you get any 12V on the brake light wire when the remote start tries to start the vehicle.

after opening the trunk and getting a shower (the tail light was FULL of water) I'll assume you're right on the short thing

Gonna have to pull of the tails and seal them up.

    Default command start remote

I recently bought a 1993 Ford Ranger with a Command Start model CS 300 1 Installed on it but I did not get the remote or manual. Where can I get a remote and information about how to use?

I have a CRV with a Autostart AS-1200 unit on it. When I press a button to lock/unlock/start the car, the lights on the car will flash but it will not lock/unlock/start the car.

Did you test the brake wire on the remote starter to see if there is any (+) feed on it during remote start?

You can also try cutting the wire to see if that helps.

When you try to start the car how many flashes do you get on the car?

Try turning the switch under the dash off and back on.

The parklights on the car should flash 2 times slowly.

    Default CS200 not working

    Hi everyone,
I bought a Cavalier that had an Ungo MS2004 alarm and a Ungo CS200 in it. I was told that the CS200 is a Command Start CS290. The prior owner pulled fuses to both when the parking lights started to flash by themselves. Up until then, both worked fine. They would use the remote from the MS2004 to start the car.

When I bought the car, I found the hood switch was broken. Now that I have replaced the switch, I put in the fuses and the alarm works fine. The remote start doesn't. When you push button four (with the * on it), nothing happens. When I try to go into programming mode, I can get the parking lights to come on and stay on. When I try to either push both button one and two and hold them, nothing happens. Same thing when I either push and hold either button one or two, the lights won't go out. I verified with the installers manual that it is wired right. I even pulled the fuses for the alarm and that didn't help. The remote works fine, seeing it will both arm and disarm the alarm. The antenna and cable look fine.
    What should I do next?
BTW, the never installed the LED for the car starter. Also, I tried the programming with the switch under the dash in both the on and off position.
    Thanks,
    Ted

The alarm must be tied in to the small yellow wire on the smaller harness of the remote starter.
If you pule that wire (yelloe) to ground, the remote starter should cycle and start the car.
If not, disconnect the hoodswitch to see if that is the issue. If it still does not start, check the on/off switch for continuity.
That is a good start for diagnostics.

Check you power and ground. Check to make sure the switch is operating correctly. I have seen the switches be faulty causing no start situations.
