If you pule that wire (yelloe) to ground, the remote starter should cycle and start the car.
If not, disconnect the hoodswitch to see if that is the issue. If it still does not start, check the on/off switch for continuity.

Thanks Gary, I'll check that. I figured that they were doing something sneaky like that, I just didn't clue into using the cold temp input. A few quick questions. The on/off switch, is this just a disable switch? (The install manual didn't define it.) If the alarm remote doesn't directly control the remote starter, I am guessing that I have to buy a remote to change the remote starter programing? Any sugestions on where to find one?

Ebay have CS555 transmitters from time to time.
The on/off switch only shuts the remote start off. All other functions remain functional.

At the valet switch? When I flip it off and on I do get the flashing lights, but my remote will not do anything.

If so you may have a faulty transmitter. Does the LED on the remote light up when you press button II?

The lights flash with button 1, but no action. Remotes LED works with button 1 or 2. Thanks for your help!

I bought a jeep with command start installed and I don't see an antenna anywhere and there is no remote. The module has no numbers on it anywhere but it looks exactly like the one in the attached image.

The antenna costs about $60.00 and the transmitters are $50.00The only problem is that it is impossible to tell if your unit is a 2 button or 4 button transmitter.
They are different.
I would have to check with my supplier as to the availability of the antenna. Transmitters I have in stock.

I have a 1997 CR-V with an Nordic Start (Autostart) NS-2420TW remote starter system. The car battery died and I had to replace it with a new one. I cannot start the car from the ignition with a key, but if push the start button on the remote, it will start. So I know I have to reprogram the starter. There isn't a manual online, but it seems like it is similar to the Autostart AS-2400TW and AS-2450TW. Reading the manuals, reprogramming the system requires the hood pin, but the hood pin on my car is broken (the cable is still there, it doesn't attach anymore to the pin. Is there a way to reprogram this without a hood pin? If so, what are the steps I can do to try to reprogram the car. I've been playing around with it all afternoon and haven't gotten anywhere with it.

It sounds like the remote starter has a starter kill relay wired in. If you press the unlock on the remote then try to start it with the key does it start with the key?
If it does then the starter kill relay is installed.
If it does not I would check for continuity on the starter wire at the ignition switch when turning the key to start position.

Hey there I have a 2001 Toyota Solara with a Astrostart Astroflex 1100. The range hasn't been good on the starter in a while but one day it worked no problem from around 80 ft, then when I got home it wouldn't work locking the doors, and the next morning it would start unless I was sitting in the car then it would work. I changed the batteries in the remote but still will not work unless I am a couple feet from the antenna. Do you think its a loose wire, bad antenna?

It is more than likely the antenna.
Check connection on the antenna to the clear plastic part on the windshield. Pull the antenna off (velcro) and re attatch it.

I have a 05 4runner with the compustar R7000 2way. Recently about the last 2 years the compustar system appears not to work in winter and would also give false alarms in heavy rain.

Is this issue related to exposed wiring? How would I check?

Using the Command Start engine quits as soon as I step on the brake. Broken wire? Anyone with an installation/programming manual for this so I can troubleshoot? [email protected]

I would say you either have a blown fuse, or a bad ignition switch.
Check for power at the pink ignition wire when you turn the key on.
The remote start is suppose to turn off when you push the brake.
This is a safety to help prevent theft.
Under the hood you have a bunch of maxi fuses. Check all of them.
If the fuses are good check for power at the ignition wire (pink) at the ignition
Switch.
Let me know what you find.

Not sure if this thread is dead, but I'm looking for a manual for a cs310i command start. I have a cs555 remote, when I program to the command start, it does exactly what it should, park lights stat on, press the "1 button", lights flash and go out... but doesnt start my 2001 cummins deisel.
Reading the entire thread, it would appear that I need to program the cs310i for deisel mode, but not sure how to do that. Would that be to program to tach? Anyone with information or can point me in the right direction would greatly be appreciated!
