    Default How Did Your Investments Do in 2004?

    As the title states, how did your investments perform in 2004? Did it meet or exceed your expectations or did they disappoint? What did you invest in?

    I bought into some moderate risk mutual funds through AIM Trimark. I maximized my RRSP contribution limit and then dumped some into an open account. Focused in four equity funds, CDN/US/International equities and a Canada Savings Bond. My return was 11% for the year.

    11% is really good congradulations.

    As for my investments, just usualy the big ones.

    Pepsi, coke, energy companies, drug companies.

    All seem to be great.

    But I find stocks will actually make or break you, the 1-3% I got from mutual funds didnt do me crap all.

    Stupid brokers take 2-4% in the background.

    I had a 36.9% return in 2004 with just mutual funds. Dollar cost averaging kicks ass.

    Some winners and some loser average out to about 14%. Couldn't complain, espeically after the disasterous 2002.

    RRSP = 10-12%
    Non RRSP = 30-40%

    I am also happy like so many of you.

    I had a 232% return on my one and only investment this year.

    .. and no I can't tell you what it was because it has very specific criteria to even apply for the investment. and I know that none of you beyonders fit that criteria.

    on forex I made $54,000 on a $50,000 investment in like a month. too bad it was fake money. I really, really have to put some REAL money into that... it seems so perfect, the leveraging is awesome!
