What will I win if my image is selected?
The grand prize is a brand new 512MB Ipod Shuffle which is not available in stores yet. The prize will be awarded to the image that wins by popular vote. Past winners of photoshop contests on beyond.ca are all eligible for this contest.
How does this contest work?
To enter this contest, simply download the image to be modified from this thread and use any image manipulation software to make changes to the image to alter its appearance. The more creative and custom your work is, the better it will rank. Changes may include but are not limited to: redesigned headlights, doors, wheels, tires, etc, new colors, shape of car, etc.
All entries will be evaluated based on the following points:
Code:
- Creativity & Originality:
This is where we will evaluate the image based on how original
the ideas in the image are. For example, if the entry has shaved
door handles, that is a pretty common thing on a car so even if its
well done, it doesn't earn that many points. If the image has a
modification that is very rarely seen on a photoshop then more
points will be awarded in this category.
- Realism (Can we tell its been photoshopped?)
An original idea that is executed poorly will not get as many
points as a commonly used trick that is done very well. A top 10
candidate will look as if the image is untouched and is a real
photograph.
- Wow factor (How extreme are the mods?)
This last evaluation category is to encourage more risky
modifications to the images in the contest. Any entry that has
drastic changes will earn more points than a bland modification.
However, entrants are warned that a 10/10 on the Wow Factor
will not outweigh a 1/10 in the Realism category!
Modifications to the images do not necessarily need to fit in line
with the type of car, this is what photochopping is all about,
creating cars that would never ever be produced in real life. Get
crazy, but make it look real yet unreal at the same time.
All entries must be received by February 21, 2005. After the submission deadline, all entries will be evaluated and shortlisted to five entries. A public vote will occur and results will be finalized on February 28, 2005.
Contest Rules:
- The picture background must be unmodified
