Default Need Help: System Standby Issue

I just installed the XP SP2 OS onto my friends computer.
SATA RAID-1... mirror mode or whatever...
This is my first time ever working with a RAID and SATA enabled computer, this was really the only unknown variable for the install... I got everything up and running, the BIOS looks good, OS install goes okay too. As soon as it goes to boot up for the first time, as soon as it logs in, the computer jumps into standby more... No matter what I can not bring it out of that mode. As soon as I click the mouse and log back in, it goes to sleep again... I seriously do not know what's going on... Any possibility that this is a virus? I did use a diskett for the RAID drivers during that install that I made using my bro's computer... He does not have a secure computer... Anyways, I am stumped... I've gone through dozens of different settings in the BIOS (The mobo is an ASUS A8V Deluxe btw.) with no results. Too f'ing late right now, gonna sleep... I'm going to try installing XP again tommorow, but I'd like to try out any suggestions from you guys before I try reinstalling. Thanks in advanced for your responces.

have you tried safe mode yet??

If you can get into safe mode, chances are it's a driver issue when booting into windows normally.

Please post PC specs, might help a bit more.

    Specs are:

    Athlon 64, 3500+ @ 2200Mhz.
    1GB, Dual Channel Ram...
SATA RAID-1 HD Config. Using 2 Maxtor 250GB HDs.
    Radeon 7000pci card, temporary
    ASUS A8V Deluxe MoBo

    I think that's it....
I can't get into safe mode...
As soon as I press it, a bunch of directories scroll across the screen and it freezes... Really frustrated... don't know what to do... I have like 3secs. in the OS before it jumps into sleep mode... not even enough time to disable system suspend...

Any ways I can disable it from the BIOS.... there were a few settings like S1, C3, etc... I have no idea what those things do... What does ACPI mean? "ACPI state used for sys. suspend"... I disabled most of them, but some can't be disabled...

Any thoughts on what is going on? I can't update the drivers... I can't flash the bios... What should I try next? Thx again.
