Default Question Regarding Ticket In BC

    Hi there,

My wife just got a speeding ticket in Lake Country, BC and
she was informed that she was going 72 km/h in a 50 km/h zone.

However we see no reference to this on the ticket hence so we are wondering whether or not this information has to be there or not for the ticket to be valid.

    Your help is appreciated.

    RGDS & TIA

Aren't tickets in BC different? Isn't it a flat fee of $100 for the first km over? Is there a place on the ticket that allows for that kind of information?

are you saying the ticket doesnt state that she was going 72 in a 50 zone

Or are you in denial that going 22 over the speed limit is against the mva?

    Hello,

Yes I am stating that nowhere on the ticket that it indicates that she was going 72 in a 50 zone and I was wondering if that has to be there or not.

No, it does not have to be there.

Penalty for 72 over is $196, although the officer may have chosen to write it for $138 which is a nice bonus for her but does not affect the validity of the ticket.

The wording of the ticket says that the driver was going faster than the limit and the fine indicates what range they were over by if written correctly.
