Yup, Carline a.k.a Calgary Muffler. That is one place that will value your business and take the time and effort to make you feel appreciated.

I personal recommend the 58th Ave and MacLeod Trail South location.

Here is a thread where we ranted and raved about it

nobody can mandrel bend you an exhaust in calgary, aside from using ubends.

they will use aluminumized steel, which should hold up pretty good, but their welds, flanges and bolts will rust pretty bad.

they are definatly the best bang for your buck.

if you want a mandrel stainless exhaust i could do it for u but it will be pretty expensive

i am not worried about what kind of bends they are... as it is just on a 4cyl. and the amount that it will actually effect the flow is very small... so couldnt i just get all stainless steel? i dont see why i would have to go with aluminumized steel for the bends?

Not just the bends will be aluminized steel, all of the piping will be. I don't know of any muffler shops that use stainless for their piping. Its just too expensive.

hummm i find that hard to believe... i was just down at the world of wheels getting the car ready and i talked to a few people with custom exhausts and they said they were all done with stainless steel at local muffler shops...

But say i do go with Aluminized tubing.. how well does it hold up against rusting?

Carline on Mcleod + 58th has done several of our customers cars with stainless. It is an arm and a leg for it though.

yea i figured it would be pricey... how much would i except to pay for single cat back system with the stainless steel? in about a 2.5" diameter... also how well do you think the Aluminized tubing would stand up to rust? this is an every day all year around driver.

It's not that they can't do,it's just a pain and really expensive.if your going to weld stainless you need to change the wire and gas in your welder(I'd be surprised it they even have the argon and wire).Better yet if your going to spend the money get it tig welded, but thats waaaay beyond your average exhaust shop.
Aluminized is fine, just get them to spray the welds with a good high temp paint and it should last for years.
