Makers of noname or store name products

Not sure if this has been posted before but I was wondering what different products are made by a brand name for a generic name or chain store name brand??

Ex, goodyear was making Canadain tire tires some tim back not sure if they still do

do you know of anymore??

I thought Michelen made them now. I'm pretty sure they make the winter line.

Most store brand products are made by a name brand company actually. Stores aren't about to buy a complete production facility when they can use a name brand company's production facilty and just slap their own label on it. Some brand name companies will even handle the labelling for them.

i'm pretty sure duracell batteries and presidents choice batteries are the same thing.

It can change - stores usually buy their store brands in lots - when they run out of a lot, they'll go to market and maybe another company will produce the next run of their store brand.

Usually stores will stock a supply of the name brand that produced their store brand - ie Superstore's no name Tuna was (maybe still is) by Clover leaf which Superstore also sells.

i may be wrong but when brand name stuff doesn't meet QC standards it is sold for cheap to other companies to make no name brand stuff. IE duracell batteries that have 0.01V less than acceptable standard so it is sold to superstore to make there no name stuff. Hence why they can sell it so cheap.

There are a lot of reasons why its cheaper - yes sometimes the quality suffers in order to get the lower price, but other times its because you are eliminating a middleman and overhead costs (IE shipping to a warehouser/distributor plus the warehouser's costs/profit margin, advertising - name brands factor a lot more of this cost into their final price) and so on. Some products differ only by label.
