    Question MEC Backpack Lifetime Warranty

So from what I understand it doesn't cover broken zippers, they'll only replace one of them for free. I've already gotten my free replacement but 2 of the zippers are broken now and I kinda want a new one...So is there any foolproof way to get a new one exchanged? Like if I take a knife to it, or perhaps rip it somehow? My bags probly about 6-7 years old now if that makes a difference

holy shit, if theyve lasted 7 years dont u think theyre well worth the money for u to buy a new one? imo, if ure gonna scam a company, do it for a good reason.

Good question. My MEC pack had the zipper rip from the bag after a few years, so now I'm left with a hole when it is zippep up.

Didn't know they had a lifetime warranty, I will have to check into it.

Aren't they only like 40$ or something? Is all the trouble really worth it when you can just go get a new one that's all working?

lifetime refers to the length of the warranty, not what the warranty covers. thats a lame excuse for just being a cheapass haha. i can understand that u wanna be a cheap bastard, cuz i am like that too...but mec is a member owned cooperative. when u scam them for a backpack, u arent scamming some huge evil corporation, ure just scamming all the members. besides, where else can u go to buy a bag thatll withstand 7 years of abuse for only $40?

It depends... if it's just a $40 pack for your books, etc I would probably just give in and buy a new one. If it's a backpacking bag worth a few hundred then you'd probably want to talk to them, failing that you can get it fixed for maybe $30 a zipper?

I love my mec bags, they've all lasted me years! Just buy another bag and you'll be good for the next 5-7 years
