    dont laugh cause am computer stupid....i want too use dialup...so where do i plug the phone cord....please help

    doesnt look like you have a modem and its not built into your mobo... you will need to buy a 56k modem first..

    Should post that thread subject in ask Leo:

    But looks like you DO have a modem built onto your motherboard. You have to make sure you have the appropriate drivers installed and that you setup a dial up connection properly.

    Oh and connect the other end of the phone cord to a working phone line.

    That is not a modem. It is a ethernet connection. The symbol that is just above the plug in is the sympol for ethernet networking. You have to buy a modem. When you get one ask for a Internal 56K modem. Then follow the instructions that come with it. To install it. Hell i have a 56K modem ill give ya for $30 in the mail.

    But yea... the symbol indicates ethernet

    Im in the SE. mobo = motherboard. I just compared the size of the jack to the usb ports and compared on my computer that is definatly a ethernet jack.

    You have to purchase a modem. And install it.
    If you can find a usb modem that would be the easiest for you, and should work out of the box.
