ME VS 1997 camaro Z28

I had a wicked race last night. It was against my friend's 97 Camaro Z28. (well actually his dad's)

Anyways. We lined up and the light goes green. I take him off the line about a 1/4 of a car. But then he slowly starts making ground. Slowly... slowly... slowly.... By the end of the race his rear bumper was a foot or 2 in front of my front bumper.

Damn american muscle cars!!!

Awesome race though. I guess my 1.6L did ok compared to the GM motor 5.7

How many mods do you have to be able to keep up to those cars?? I mean, the Z28 is a beast.

do u have a turbo cause the CRX 1.6 is a weak motor, and a Z28 properly driven will STOMP ya//

Yea I got some goodies. But here's the thing. I thought my car was even a bit sluggish. And my TPS sensor was screwing up at full throtle.

So I go back to teh guy to get a new TPS and he remembers that we never did my timing (since 3 days ago when I replaced my timing belt)

So we get teh new TPS in and do my timing. It's supposed to be at 16 degrees for ignition timing.


It was at 5!!!! so we put it back up and god it screams now!!! I wanna race my friend again. But he won't get his dad's car again for a while.

But my car is N/A. No turbo/supercharger, or NOS!!!

Can't say nothin unless you witnessed it, but the newer Z28s/Stangs are in the lower 6's and high 5's for 0-60 times...

It would be hard for an import to keep up to those, but props to ya for doing so!

Hey, I'm not lying. IT's a 1997 Camaro Z28. IT's an auto.

I kept up REALLY good with it. By 170 km/h he was just a foot in front of me.

I only ran a 15.3 But it was my first time. I hear that my tire pressure was WAY too high. I was at 32 psi. I should have been at 20.

I raced a type R at the track and he beat me. But we raced on teh street after and I cooked him by 2-3 cars.
