Default If your on Fido or Rogers, You can save some money

    Hi Everyone,

Well I am sure some of you guys saw my thread on Beyond selling out my Fido Contract. Well, I wanted to give a little heads up for you guys. I called Fido cancelation department 1-888-259-3436 and told them that I will be swiching to telus.

Well to make a long story short, They convinced me to stay with them by giving me Half price on the $25 unlimited Incoming Plan, and 6 Months free call display/Voice mail, and 6 months $4 Call Display Voicemail. Thats a pretty big saving over a year, over my regular price I saved $222 for talking with the Representative there for a good 40 Minutes without a doubt worth my time! I have been on a contract for 11 months of a 24 month contract.

I strrrooongly suggest people check this out, I would almost guarentee you will get something:

The same thing should work if your on rogers too.

    Good luck!

    Neil

basically all you get is that you get to MATCH telus's current contract + you get some more goodies like a free phone and free text messaging, i thought that i would get a free phone or something for the duration of my contract...well if i am right someone correct me...

I am not on any contract. Just month to month, $25/month one. With free incoming calls and shit. Bill comes up to like $40 or more easily every time. Anything I can do? Like call them and say what?

If you know how to talk you can almost get anything from them.

    Discounts, free phones, etc.

That may be, but i am wondering if this deal applies to your current contract, or if you must renew your contract..?

it's basically the retention type plans - where they throw free stuff/good incentives at you to keep w/them and renew

worked for me and rogers - and I am one happy camper free $50.00 a month plan for a year, and a free t637

    yeah

3 years seems long, but it's not a big deal since I usually get new phone every 8-12 months..and I intend to keep my cell number

I am on Fido, but it should be applicable to Rogers too!

    Just some advice for all.

Be sure to stroooongly mention the telus deal that they are offering.

Tell them a few things (works for Rogers/Fido)

    1. Telus is offering 1 year FREE
    2. Telus includes Voicemail
    3. Telus is giving you a Samsung A-600 worth $250 ( )
    4. Fido increased the price of Call Display and Voicemail and your concerned whats next
    5. Your having to dial long distance for local calls in your local area (been happening to me allot!)
    6. Tell them that you don't care being on a 3 year contract because You like to stay with providers for a while and the 2 year contract doesn't really apeal to you.
    7. Fidos per Second Billing doesn't really appeal to you that much since most of your calls are incoming.
    8. The price of canceling a contract is greatly less than
having a free year of cell phone.

Tell them that you will switch, but was wondering if they could do something for you. (you have been a loyal customer blah blah blah) talk confident and make your points clear. Don't let the bitchy frenchies push you around At the same time, they will appreciate someone who speaks respectfully vs some jackass who sounds like he is having a temper tantrum, no one wants to keep clients like that!

If you are currently on a contract, you should be able to ask, and GET the following:

1/2 Price the $25 Unlim Incom Calls Package
1/2 Price Voicemail and Call Display (works out to be $4) for 6 Months and Free for 6 Months

You might be able to get more, just ask and bargain with them, it might take half an hour but its worth it if you can save some serious money.

If stuff isn't working out, ask them to work with you and give something like Rogers Roaming, Unlimited Calling for X months etc etc.

It is BETTER if your a fido/rogers customer without a contract as that way they will want you to sign one. You should be able to get the above except, FREE Voicemail and Call Display for a year, and a V400 (possssibly a Z600) thrown in there for free.

Good luck to all of you, I hope I can save all you Beyonders some Cash

^ well its better to have free year than an unlimited year, since free years include 700 free mins.....
