    Default Vide Card Problems

Awhile ago I decided to upgrade my computer, basically the only component I'm taking from my old system is my video card (and hard drives) which is an ati 9600xt video card. My card worked fine on my 'old' computer but I can't seem to get anything out of it now. My new computer works fine using an older video card, but the screen remains black when the 9600xt is installed. I've updated all my drivers, etc but I still can't get anything...

    Help Me

did u plug the vga cable into the right output? did you check the refresh rate and video settings? can you get into safe mode? are you able to see the bootup screen where the bios information is displayed? can you get into the bios? is there an onboard video card? has it been disabled?

Yeah well I wonder how they get the soft flowing caramel inside the Caramilk bar but you don't see me making a god damn thread about it. Slap your wife Baygirl, straighten him out.

VGA cable is in the right output... I can't check anything because the screen stays black...

i'm using another video card and the system works fine, so i assumed it was a problem with the video card itself

i'm not much of a computer geek, so i've been reading through all my manuals and stuff trying to figure something out... is there a way to test my video card (other than trying on another machine?)

    Thanks for the help...

sometimes monitors with standby mode might not detect the output signal from the video card at once. have u tried shutting down the monitor and turning it on again while the computer is on?

best thing to do is to test the 9600 on another machine and see if it works.

It's a Raidmax 430W... my other pc had a no name 350W and it seemed to have no problems...
