I think my desktop has a virus

Just today when I had to open an attachment for a new job, my computer started to suddenly slow down, and it wouldn't open the file.

Now my computer is running slow as sin. In running a full system scan, it is estimated to run until 6pm tomorrow!!

damn sounds like u are fucked. i dont have much help for how to get rid of the virus other than letting the antivirus run for now..

but in the future, use norton av and keep the autoprotect on.

My computer did the same thing, only it froze after going slow...i ran the anti-virus (1 hour) and it fixed it..

kinda. u have to backup the stuff u want to keep, and in doing so u might retain the virus in your backed up stuff. plus reformats are a bitch so see if the antivirus can fix it or at least id the virus for u.

try hijackthis.

You may be able to isolate the process and kill it.
