What do you mean by quickly? Like a day?
My battery lasts for about 4 days before I have to recharge it.

mine is shit too so I went into Rogers. they told me I have the newest software etc and all the bullshit they had to tell me. Depends on if you use the BT, or anything else. He said its normal. Mine is to the point if I use it moderately I have to charge it every night. Other then that it's a great phone.

Do you have a Rogers one?

I have the latest Rogers software on it (R47_G_08.17.25R) as the old one would have issues keeping the display off when the flip was closed causing battery life to plumment.

My phone is all over the map. One charge I had 3hrs30min talk and lasted a full day with lots of camera and PC syncing operations. Another charge was 17mins and lasted 1.5 days standby. Another charge was 30 mins and lasted 3 days standby. I was like WTF? I am reconditioning the batter with full charge and discharge cycles and hoping that helps.

Doesn't help that the battery guage is not linear at all. It's 3 bars for the longest time and then it slowly goes to 2 and then almost instant it's 0 and low batt warning. Motorola did put a detailed battery meter function....to bad it goes down in the increment of 2s out of 6, basically its a mirror of the 3 bar guage on the idle screen. Motorola hasnt implemented the detailed battery meter correctly in any Vxxx phone yet. Nice.

yeah no kidding! i've never seen the "detailed" battery meter at 1, 3, or 5 before on the V551, or any motorola i've owned for that matter.

anyways, the V551 does seem to have shittier battery life than most phones. people say that turning down your screen's brightness setting to '0' helps it a bit.

also, i think the battery's life depends a lot on whether you conditioned it properly or not PRIOR to the first use.
