Air India Bombings

As of today a couple of 'Sikh separatists' were found not guilty after a 20 year case.

As far as I can understand on June 23rd, 1985 bombs found their way onto a Air India aircraft via. luggage. Some of this luggage ends up in Japan and explodes, 15 minutes late the air india flight explodes killing 331 Canadians. This flight started in CANADA with the flight heading to Ireland. As far as I can see is this not considered terrorism?



Putting that aside for awhile. One of the two on trial admitted to taking part in the bombings to a witness that later stood trial, but the witness was proven 'not reliable' because of love? Am I the only one seeing the lack of justice here?

My Opinion:

This trial was being watched by world, nothing like taking a stance against acts of wide spread murder. Was the government to afraid to offened the Sikh population that resides in Canada? So many question and so few anwsers.

ever since the bomb maker got convicted of 320 (forget the exact number on the plane) counts of manslaughter and got 320 5 years sentances to be served co-currently, and since time served is triple time he was set free I have been very jaded towards this whole affair.

you guys have no clue as to what happened, the cirumstancial evidence..and the lack i mean total lack of forensic evidence..i'm sure here u guys have more information and evidence then the judge to pass such judgements...these 2 sikhs are innocent....and will live innocent and free.

but justice needs 2 be brought to the famillies.

I gotta be honest and say I have no idea what this case was about. Crap, I never even knew we had such a huge loss of life "in Canada" due to a terrorist act

I read two witnesses were murdered, there was no other good evidence, and one of the accused had a daughter on the plane, and the other witnesses were contradictory

Not to mention, one of them was paid $460,000 to testify....

After 20 years, they had no real evidence???

Why was is even in court? Is there a better article I should read?

If you read through the history of the sikh freedom struggle now....1978 to present..and the past ...u will c innocents were never targetted...the sikhs protect the weak...... ne who....

The witness that was murdered was mr thara singh hayer, he could in no way be a witness as he wrote anti-sikh articles and would not be privi to ne "information".

Ne who..... they are free...the judge has made a decission on more evidence then u were ever given..so please how do u make a better judgement then the judge?

Fuck we've been following this case for the past 3 months in my class and the outcome came totally opposite to what it should have been.

The Air India attack, per capita, was as large as the 9/11 attack. Tragic day in Canadian history, and we didn't do anything then, didn't do fuck all now.

what did the accused sikh do to put up a 20 year long court case?

usually when shit like this happens and theres someone accused or found to be involved they are in prison or court to be told they are guilty...doesnt take 20 years to prove someone NOT guilty

plus with all the other things connected to this case like the deaths of those other guys...shouldnt someone be questioning why those witnesses got murdered?
