starter problems..?

i got a 90 civic si from the police auction and when i go to start it all it does is go "weeeeeee"

sounds like the starter is spinning but not turnin over the engine...

amy suggestions or advice?

Sounds like your right, the solenoid is not pushing the starter against the flywheel or it's not getting close enough to grab.

Thats sound could be not enough shims or you're flywheel teeth could be all scraped up.
