Question Mods for my Nissan Sentra Spec V - HELP

Ok so I just got an '03 Nissan Sentra Spec V. I am looking add a couple perfromance parts to it. I was wondering everyone's opinion on what are the BEST products.

Intake: Between an Injen and AEM cold air...Which is better?

Exhaust: I am leaning towards a Greddy Evo 2 exhaust, but I am up for ANY suggestions.

Headers: Looking at DC Headers because of all the good words my friends are saying...Is it the best?

Maybe I'll get some hot wires but this is my basic list.
    ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!

get nismo stuff for a nissan, they make the best quality parts for your car. (Talk to the dealer, they sell it.)

    Nismo will be overpriced.

For most applications i've seen, Injen has beat out AEM in power gains.

For headers, DC is excellent quality. Any better and you will end up paying for the name.

agreed...but also you might want to hit up Spec V based forums...or wait till more Spec V owners reply to your thread as they can offer maybe more info than the rest of us in regards to your application as well...

I used to drive a spec and this is what I would get:

I suggest the hotshot header. It is really well made and is the same one that Nismo uses (it is rebadged).

As for intakes, both AEM and Injen are good. From what I have heard, both are about the same in terms of quality and performance. Some say Injen fits better, but I had no problems with my AEM

As for exhaust, this is really a personal taste. However, I have heard nothing but good things about the Greddy Evo, so that would be a good way to go

hotshot is a good choice but you have to buy a separate downpipe for it whereas for DC header it comes with it and is a good quality also...AEBS header and Nismo header are also one of the best choice but a little bit pricey. dunno if they come with the downpipe though.

as for intake...most spec owners either have hotshot or AEM. you can't go wrong with both of them. injen's not a bad one too.

and for catback..greddy evo2 and apexi ws2 has a nice tone to compliment the header. stromung and magnaflow also makes a catback. there are many more but the four i've mentioned are among the popular spec owners have

    Intake: Both are good.

Headers: DC Headers are the best 'coz it includes the downpipe.

Exhaust: Check out powertechimports.com. They have good stuff there.

I also have a Sentra SE-R Spec V and I'm not spending any cash on it at all. Unless I spend HUGE bucks, it's still gonna be hopelessly slow when compared to say...a stock SRT-4. So, don't waste too much cash on it if you think you're making a "F-A-S-T" car out of it...

Just my opinion. I like the SE-R for a lot of reasons, but acceleration power is never going to be one of them...

That being said, however, you should probably get some info from Silver_SpecV (I think that is the handle) as he has a very modified SPEC V and would obviously be a great source of information for your project.

Look at the curb weight of the Nissan vs other cars in its class. You will see that it is very lightweight. Lighter than a VW, Lancer, Focus, Tiburon, Impreza, Matrix, Mazda3 etc.

I would try to get the weight down even more if possible. Not only will this make you faster but the car will handle awesome.

Then I say skip the bolt-ons and save for something like a low pressure supercharger, there must be one out by now?

How much do they usually go for. I was going for bolt-ons because they are things that I know I can install myself and that will have an immediate difference in the speed of the car.

Also, I remember reading somewhere here that you can hear how certain exhausts sound on cars. Does anyone know of a place I could hear a Spec V with some sort of catback?

    Thanks.

I had a spec v with an injen cai and the greedy evo exhaust the sound of both was awsome. If you get the cai you will have to do alittle trimming for the pipe. The greddy evo had great fitment and sounded even better nice low tone.

Although bolt ons give you an immediate difference it is usually a small difference... I wish I had spent less on bolt ons...

actually spec v's are very receptive to mods.

and they do not make S/C's for them, they make enough torque as it is lol

Didn't someone on B15 build a turbo kit for the Spec V? I remember the numbers was in the mid 200s, but I'm not sure if the kit was actually being distributed or it was just somethin the guy did for fun and wanted to test out the block's strength.

    A good board is www.thevboard.com ..

most people on there will tell you the 'best' exhaust is the WS2.

I may not have my V for much longer.. probably going to end up giving it to my future wife and then look for a new car for myself. I'm really leaning towards the 2005.5 SRT-4 (in the stone white). However, I'm also getting married so something like an Altima 3.5SE or SER would be as well.
