Default I changed my WRX STI cat-back (video with sound )

I replaced my WRX STI IV cat-back last weekend and made a short movie. I went for the APEXi N1 Evo. It's s relatively silent because the legal limit in Japan is 97db.

    I'll post G-Tech results , before /after soon.

I made a GTECH Pro run this morning to check WHP. It was about 15 Celcius. I started smoothly since this was not a 1/4 mile run but in the end the 1/4 mile results were quite good, so as the 0-60 (my best before was 5.1)

STI version IV, pretty much stock except the Blitz BOV and the APEXi N1 EVO catback.

    max WHP: 282.4 @ 5902 RPM
    max Torque: 251.5 ft-lbs @ 5870 RPM

    1/4 mile: 13.6 @ 111 mph
    1/8 mile: 9.2 @ 88.81 mph
    0-60 mph: 5.5 sec

It could have been a little better since I hit 111 mph after 12.5 sec (turning on the speed limiter which prevents speed over 111 in Japan)

I have the Gtech jpeg file. I will post it tonight. If anyone is interested in getting the raw Gtech file for comparison, let me know and I'll send by email or made it available from my web site.

So 282 WHP is amazing considering the loss in the drive train and the air resistance factor.

Anyone know how much is lost usually (from the HP at the crank) ?

For exact car? or in general.... Generally 15-20% is "normal"... And no one can answer for your specidic car with the things you have done/ how well it;s running etc.. theres just no way...Looking good though!

edit: just found this site: hp loss a good read...

Sweet little video! Its cool to see "Foreign Devils" ripping up shit in Japan
"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

Ok here are the GTECH PRO results: taram!

I noticed my ECU seemed to be programmed to give the highest boost in third gear, where I reach about 18 PSI. So If you try to measure your WHP, make sure to do it in third gear, all the way to red line. This may vary on a non-STI WRX though or on a different model. Just try 2nd and 3rd to be sure.
