I first read this thread and thought "OMG the franchise is screwed!"
After I saw Layer Cake, I think I've changed my mind. The guys capable of alot more then I originally gave him credit for. Anyone who hasn't seen Layer Cake should see it, before judging.

Brosnan was kind of out of place as Bond, he was always kind of a charming douchebag. This guy will be a meaner Bond.

I think this guy will turn out to be a great Bond guy, he will have a meaner/killer look to him, but will make sure he has the charm aswell.

This guy actually seems like he is going to be a good bond.
The new movie also sounds like its gonna be great, as its going to be somewhat of a prequel. Its nice that they arn't going to have as many stupid gadgets and retarded plotlines (Namely Die another day). The plan is ot make it allot more character based.

Give the guy a chance before you hate on him. He does have a rougher bond look than previous pretty boys but he wouldn't have beat out all those other actors if he wasn't more than capable.

Right off the bat, I don't like the looks of this new bond. He looks more like a villain or the drunken, washed-up, ex-con.
Personally, I think the 007 movies made Brosnan. He was almost a nobody before he was 007, sure he was the new-dad in the Mrs. Doubtfire movie, but he wasn't really well known until the 007 movies. Maybe the 007 movies will "make" this Craig guy.
They've also said that they intend to give the new 007 movie a new/different feel to it. So that may be part of why they chose this guy for Bond's 'new' look.
We'll just have to wait and see!
