IPOD Mini Questions (newbie)

Hello!

I'm new to the world of IPODS, but having bought my new BMW recently which came with an IPOD adapter, I'm looking at getting one.

Forgive the newbie questions, but most threads I've read, suggest music can only be downloaded from an "ITunes" website? Is this true?

If I purchase an IPOD mini, is there any way to upload my MP3s downloaded from P2P networks, or that I've created myself using CDs onto the device?

On an unrelated note, can the Mini be used akin to a USB key, whereby I can transfer MP3s from one computer to another?

yah you can transfer any of your mp3s over not just from itunes
and yes it can be used as a hardrive(usbkey)

from what i understand though, u don't have access to the mp3 files when using it ourside of itunes...u can load all the mp3s u want, but if u connect it to a computer and use it as usb key mp3s dont' show up
