I think you may have turned the blocker off. For me I cannot remember the last time I got a popup.

No I checked. The only allowed site is web.messenger. Thats it. Other than that it's on and everything. I think people have figured out a way around. I have no clue.

Guess it's been around long enough now that people have been working on a way to get around it. Personally, I haven't experienced more than a few, however its likely that in the near future I will be get more an more.

I guess when it was initially released, the pop-up blocker worked, because previously sites with pop-ups didn't have anything to defeat, as IE didn't have any sort of pop-up blocker (other than toolbars downloaded from other sources, but those worked for the same reason) so they weren't programmed to get past any pop-up blocker, and therefore Firefox was able to block them. As Firefox became more popular, more and more pop-ups failed to get through, the sites programmed the pop-ups to get past the pop-up blocker and now Firefox will have to improve its pop-up blocking system.

Happens to everyone... the sites are just getting smarter with their popups, using plugins (like flash) to launch them.

They're working to close those loopholes though.

1.0.3 - It should improve, I just downloaded it, I'll see how it holds up.
