Sr20de Rattling Noise Problem HELP!!

During idling or driving....when i rev-up my engine I hear loud rattling/crackling sound at certain RPM range... seems to be comming out from bottom of my engine....also quit a bit of oil has started leaking.

The noise is quite loud at that range of RPM...but when i rev more or lesser it disappears.

Its not comming from Transmission, i m pretty sure and its not from the headers either...cause i dont see any smoke commin out of header plus the noise wasn't from header. Noise is commin out from inside the engine's bottom ..crankshaft ....what could be wrong ?? Can any one help please.

Is this on a FWD or RWD SR20DE engine? Pop your valve cover and see if there is some slack in the timing chain. Also check to make sure the chain guides are not cracked or broken. Broken or cracked guides will cause the engine to tick very loud and will often make it run horrible when it gets worse and worse.

If the guides check out okay you've likely spun a bearing.
