Junie vs. Delgado last night.

They both looked terrible. At least Junie could throw a punch where Delgado has the weakest jab I have ever seen. I mean they were both out of gas before the first round ended and they both ended up spending time staring at each other in the centre of the ring with huge openings for strikes and they just wouldn't do it.

Delgado is a joke. I really hoped junie would have lost just because of his attitude but delgado had no chance. I thought his black belt story was pretty funny until I seen him on the speed bag, that guy couldn't even hit it more than twice in a row. His takedowns were retarded because everytime he went for it junie ended up with the better position. That fight pretty much showed me he wasn't no black belt. Junie on the other hand needs to get booted because that guy is a disgrace to the mma world.

Impressive. I'm not sure how a fight that was 99% standup demonstrated to you (who I'm sure is qualified to make such a judgement) that Delgado isn't a black belt in BJJ.


Of course, the videos of him testing and receiving his black belt from Diojone Frantas a couple years ago indicates that your assessment of his BJJ, based on his boxing ability, might be a little off.

Surely, he's no world beater. Looks like the only thing he's really got is his BJJ, and that doesn't help him much if his wrestling is too poor to enable him to get the fight on the ground. Although after chuckling at how inept he looked on the speed bag, his standup inpressed me. No power, but he used his range effectively.

My bad if he does have a black belt. He seems like a nice guy and he might be a freak in bjj but from seeing his training on the show and the actual fight I don't think he's cut out for the ufc. Can someone post a clip of him on the speed bag?

Well, unless this is your first time watching The Ultimate Fighter, then you should know that the reality series is a trial camp for a select group of fighters to compete to get a shot at a UFC contract and a signing bonus (some of those who don't win the title of 'The Ultimate Fighter' can still potentially sign with the UFC, just no up-front 6-figure signing bonus).

Delgado didn't just stroll into the house, he had to beat somebody to be there. So imagine how good the guy he beat was. Kenny Florian started out the same way but with a bit more strength, all bjj, wasn't TUF, but today he's one of the best & most respected in the class. Delgado's no Florian but it's premature to judge his future career based on a 1.5 second clip of him as a rookie.

After watching the 1.5 second clip of him I'll bet you'll probably never see delgado in the ufc octagon.

If Cote wins, you're stoked because your guy won. Plus, no one remembers when you called the 6 to 1 favorite to win. Everybody remembers when you call the upset of the century.
When, errr, *if* Silva wins, he always does so in spectacular fashion, so you get to see something phenominal.

i was looking forward to have another highlight reel victory by silva. Silva landed some decent shots but seemed so hesitant.

Oh well i guess I will just have to watch reruns of Silva dismantling Leben to get my fix for tonight.
