Oh and that crappy fabric that comes on many racing seats is any better? No way, they stain easy, wear down easy, and the fabric deteraites. Not saying all racing seats but a lot. You all know of the fabric I'm talking about.

Im torn between this too...Most Racing Seats once mounted are too low for my Car, making it a pain to Drive with the messed up seating postion...I Could always just Re-Cover my Leather, but that will be big $$$, or too much for my likeing anyway. Or I could Cover them in Vinyl, but that might look kinda cheap..probably better than Cracked Leather though.

Maybe its time to invest in some better quality seats? I've found with racing seats especially, you get what you pay for.
Drag racing is for fast cars. Solo 2 is for fast drivers.

It was a good thing you brought this up, I was wondering the same thing. Racing seats get worn down fairly quickly when used for every day driving, vinyl looks cool when color matched correctly but like already stated they will not hold you in position at all.

well yea, but leather wrapping would make the seat slippery and defeat the purpose of a racing seat.

I'd go for wrapped seats, since they look a lot cleaner than racing seats and you can choose a scheme that looks the best with your ride setup

What kind of adjustments do you have on your factory seat rails?? Forward/Back, Tilt...etc...

One option is to use the existing rails and get custom brackets made for them. Guyon is one place that does it and they did an awesome job for my car, and at a great price too (custom brackets, install seat, and installed 4pt harness for $180). So that way I retained all the adjustability of my factory seats.

the seat itself should keep you pretty snug in there regardless of the material used to cover them. Just look at the seats in Kenny's car...they are leather and they keep you planted fairly well. Another example are the racing seats in the 911 GT3..etc..they are full on race buckets that are leather wrapped too.

I would have to say its a hard choice

racing seat are comfy and hold you in place

wrapped seats look nice but they aren't really comfy and don't hold you in.

I would probably go with racing seats depending on what type your looking at.

im sorta leaning towards leather wrapping then. yeah racing seats do hold you better but keep in mind taht i have a del sol. the stock seats are already like racing seats. and besides, when you leather wrap you can have custom colors. id go with wrapping them in my car but for others, maybe racing seats. and plus racing seats only look good in nice interiors.

Del sol seats are fairly nice.

I'd get the stock seats wrapped in leather.
