    Exclamation Who offers satelite?

    Does any company in Calgary offer satelite???? Is satelite good? fast?

    its about the same as 56k from what I have heard. Basically unless you are a traveller or business person and have the money to spend on a mobile satalite system and dont need anything fancy, it isnt worth it. Not to mention the price Basdically its 56k for $90 or something last time i checked.

    if you can get either dsl or cable internet, do not even THINK about getting satellite. it does not compare

    i am not in the know with latest sat technology, but satellite is designed to only receive signal and not send it out. Now the cheaper stuff you can get will resieve at about 1megabit, but sending on it requires you to dial to a 56 modem. So basicly recieve thought satellite send thought 56k, u can download with decent speeds but if u sending anything it goes at 56k. Now, another problem is slow ping time, it takes a while for the ping signal to travel from ground to sat back to you so initial requests can be slow.

    I have heard that there is now 2 way satellite that uses the sat to send and recieve, but I have never used sat myself so I have no clue.
