    Default RX-7 Price?

    Hey guys,

I was wondering what your opinions are on a used RX-7.

    I found a 1995 RX-7 w/ 24 000 KM on it for 35 000. I also found a 1993 RX-7 w/ 80 000 KM for 26 000.

    What are you opinions?

    Is 30k+ really worth a used car, or should I just get a 2003 RSX Type-S ?

    Thanks

Low mileage RX-7 tt is the shit. RSX not fast enough for 30+ grand.
Just my opinion, because there are usually other things like insurance, and so on the think about.....
Just choose what makes you the happiest after a test drive.
    Shut up and race!

RX-7s are great cars, but with big drawbacks too. They handle incredibly well and make excellent power, but the motors are notoriously fragile, they require lots of maintenance to keep them running well, and they are hella expensive to insure. In the end, its your decision. I would give various portions of my anatomy to get my paws on a third gen, but only after my money tree has started growing significantly faster.

    Thanks for your opinions!

Any ideas on what the Insurance will be?

    I would be paying 6000 - 7000 CDN/Year for my RSX.

i think rotary engines are too much work for a daily driver. you have rebuild shortly after its reached 100k. if this is your daily driver go for a rsx.

the prices he listed are actually around the going rate for them nowdays.
Sure its pricey, since they were going for the same price around 3-4 years ago.
I'm guessing they've been holding value because for one thing they can easily still hang with todays sports cars as well as the demand generated after the gaylord movie of the century fast and furious.

yah the rx7 is not daily driver so if that's what you're looking for go with the rsx...in terms of performance the rx7 puts the rsx to shame, you cant even compare the 2...i dont mind rolling in a beater as a daily driver so the rx7 would be my choice...no one cares about the rsx...the head turning factor on an rx7 is maxed out!!!

Comparing the RSX to RX7 is like comparing apples to oranges.

    - One is front wheel drive, the other is rear
    - TT versus NA

Listen to 4wheeldrift. If you want a bad-ass fast project car and have have money to burn, get the RX-7. If you just want a daily driver, get the RSX. RX-7 engines are extrememly high maintenance.

noooo!!!!!! not the rsx! what a waste of money. rx-7 would school it in every way. i dont think the rx 7 is worth the money but an rsx is a pitiful gutless car for the money.keep looking. try an older turbo II rx 7.

Well, the cars I've narrowed it down to, to buy are:

2003 Subaru WRX (Not a fan of the exterior, just a nice fast car)

    2003 Acura RSX Type-S

2003 Lexus IS300 (Kind of on the expensive side )

Maybe 2003 Mitsu Eclipse (I hear they are coming to Canada, no?)

2002 Pontiac Firebird T/A (Again, pricey. When I got into one for the first time, I thought I broke the door , but Im interested in testing another one. Pretty fast!)

I also like the new Tiburon, not much of a Hyundai fan tho

Also liked the Celica but when I got into one at the dealer, it didnt seem right for me. Just felt squished in there. All the other car's I've sat in and they seem to fit nicely (Except for the Eclipse of course).

    As for used cars.
I like the RX-7 and the 300ZX, but neither of these seem like a daily driver like the above veichles.

Looking to spend no more than 40k on a car. Those were the best choices I found. Any suggestions or opinions?

    Thanks!
    Evan

Why not a BMW E36?? You might be able to come across a 328 for high 20's/low 30's.

    Under $40K

You should test drive the cars

New WRX or used E46 BMWs would be your best bet IMO

Took me like almost half a year to decide hehe
