well.. if she has 8 yrs experience, she should open her own place. Cant get rich by working for someone else.

If she does.. PM me.. I get weekly massages that are covered by my work!

As far as I can remember from when I was looking into it, you can't be certified in another province before you come to work here. I think you have to re-certify or take the test over to be able to work in Alberta and be able to show that you meet whatever the standards are. I could be wrong, but tell your girlfriend to look into this for sure before applying.

Yep you have to pay to be registered with alberta...but alberta requirements aren't anywhere as crazy as saskatchewan.

You can never avoid income tax it seems.

Working for someoen eelse is goign to mean you are thier bitch, you get paid shit all, you can't make the hours or the days u work, higher stress sometimes.

You avoid most of that with your own job, even if u pay a little more in taxes.

???? this is the first I've heard someone complaing about this.

Other than extra paper work on taxes, you're way more flexible in diverting your income to avoid taxes when you're self-employed.

Also, more taxes you pay = more money you made. As long as she keep the books clean and neat to avoid penalties, it shouldn't be that bad.

And I believe you won't be making much working for someone else here. Anybody can get a 3-4weeks course to be one and they are paid dirt cheap. There are only a few places with pros, rest are just UC students at very low rates.
