Are you for real? gimme a break, GD is one fo the first "punk" bands to sell out for the mainstream sound. Some like the 'new' sound (more produced/ mainstream radio) and others dont. I for example Dont like the new stuff...... Go back and listen to Dookie!Originally posted by 88CRX

"A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear. The traitor is the plague.”

last time i saw them in concert they weren't great, i don't think i'd pay to see them again
sig deleted by moderator, because they are useless
Dookie and their new album American Idiot, is pretty good I think
hahaha
I thought that it was joke the way it was written cuz I thought it was something like:
'Omg!! like... omg!"
but I guess it wasn't.
I think Green Days old stuff was passable (keep in mind I don't even like alternative) but the new stuff they put out is horrible.
when do tickets go on sale?
American Idiot > Dookie
And i loved/love Dookie..... Since when was Green Day punk? Since when did they become sellouts? After Dookie? bah!
I for one made this thread to discuss the upcoming event of there concernt and all its become is a Green Day hatin' thread.

American Idiot > Dookie
Since when was Green Day punk?
Greenday put on a wicked live performance at Edge Fest about 6-7 years ago....they rocked pretty good. And I would never consider them sellouts....they were never really a true punk band. They just had a really fast tempo to all of their songs....but regardless, live music is more about the show than the music....I'm sure it will be great!
"I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered."
-Thomas Jefferson 1802
regardless of whether you consider them sellouts or not their live shows are wicked. i saw them at warped tour about 3 years ago and it was one of the best sets ive ever seen at warped.
