    Default Multi Vitamins

Anyone recommend a good multivitamin? I bought a bottle of Bayer One-A-Day and found that they give me bad stomach pains when I take them (like heartburn but lower down) even after a full meal.

Has anyone experienced this from multivitamins and found one that isnt as harsh?

i take a few Centrum Strrengths a day. have tried GNC's multivitamen too, but its no diferent in my opinion, no matter what they BS you with. But yeah, nnvere had stomache problems with either of them. take them with meals if you havea sensitive stomache though.

I take Centrum too, no problems so far. I don't take it as regularly as I should though.

Bayer One-A-Day gave me stomach pains every time i took them also. even after a full meal which i tried taking after lunch. i use gnc multivitamins with time release now which is more expensive than what you can find inside a superstore but until i find something cheaper that works i'm gonna stay with gnc. pills are pretty big and hard to swallow also.

My PT is warning me about choosing a vitamin that doesn't have a potentially harmful coating on it.

Does anyone know more about this? And can you recommend a specific brand?

By chance do you feel your body (especially neck) get warm, and perhaps a bit itchy with the Bayers??

    Lemme know.

A really good multi can be bought really cheap at Costco on their kirkland brand. By label, it kicks the crap out of anything I have seen, except this cheap Superstor brand lol, but the superstore tased NASTY once it hit your gut lol.

It feels more like the vitamin is burning a hole through my stomach. No amount of food or water seems to help.

^ugh that sucks, try a time released multi thats coated. That might help it from burning up in your stomach right away. I take the mega men's multi from GNC, its pretty cheap. ive been taking them for 3 years without a problem.

What I was gonna say is if you get a mild flush (redness around the neck), that is your body not used to the Niacin. Very common with anything with decent amounts of niacin in it.

    Completely normal in that case.

One - a - day has the same affect on me as well. Best multivitamin I used was a product I bought through a Melaleuca (sp?) distributor but he moved and I haven't been able to buy them since. Centrum works in that it doesn't cause the stomach pain but I don't know how effective they are

I've had great success with multivitamins from a company called Nutrilite, got them through somone I know. I feel much better now taking them then anything I've tried before, only way to describe it i guess is i feel more energetic all day without the stomach pain like u described. their site nutrilite.com has some good info on them and I checked them out on consumerlab.com and top notch, quality product, i highly recommend to anyone.

Best multi-vitamins come in powdered form - because you're body will actually absorb more that way.

Isotonix (Or Isotonic) make them - fairly popular among the health nuts - but I think it costs ~ $1/day....

Last time I checked Avon distributed Melaleuca products...You may just want to take a browse through their catelogue and see if it's the same stuff

I dont think that Avon would carry Melaleuca considering that they are both competing MLM companies.
