This is the most Dumbest thing I have ever heard.. George Bush should attack that high school they need democracy and Freedom, students are being oppressed.

The 10-day suspension was issued because Kevin Francois was "defiant and disorderly" and was imposed in lieu of an arrest, Spencer High School assistant principal Alfred Parham said.

The confrontation Wednesday began after the 17-year-old junior got a call at lunchtime from his mother, Sgt. 1st Class Monique Bates, who left in January for a one-year tour with the 203rd Forward Support Battalion.

Cell phones are allowed on campus but may not be used during school hours. When a teacher told him to hang up, he refused. He said he told the teacher, "This is my mom in Iraq. I'm not about to hang up on my mom."

Parham said the teen's suspension was based on his reaction to the teacher's request. He said the teen used profanity when taken to the office.

Its the kids fault, all he needed to do was calmly explain the situation, instead of saying something disrespectful like "Fuck off, my mom's in Iraq", which is my belief of what likely happened. Believe it or not, teachers/schools are not out to get you, and will usually be accomodating if you respectfully explain your extenuating circumstances. There's no way he got 10 days unless he was being retarded and out of control

it was probly during the middle of class and more than likely he told her to fuck off. if he just calmly got up and stepped out of class, covered the phone for a second and explained the situation to the teacher there wouldnt have been a problem.

10 days for talking on the phone is unwarranted - however, those of you that read the whole thing know that he was not suspended for talking on the phone!

He was suspended for being unruly and profane towards the teachers. The suspension is well warranted.

No, grandstanding by being the "big man" in front of other students most likely.

In the "real world", if you swear at your boss, you'll probably get fired. Swearing at, and being an ass to teachers or your principal should get you kicked out, especially if you do it in front of other kids.

A buddy of mine got kicked out of my school because some guys wanted to kick the shit out of him and were coming into out school for him and they told him since he is a threat to our school he cant go here any more.... i mean come on.. isnt the school susposed to protect him... and honistly my buddy did nothing.. didnt even know what was going on untill i told him... he is on this site too.. and if he reads this he can tell you how much bull shit goes on in schools now adays
