Default K&N versus Paper Fram filter, dyno results

It was on a 2001 4.6 l Stang, but I thought you guys would like to see the results anyway. It was not a cold air kit, just a drop in filter.

Personally, I did not expect much out of the K&N, but I expected 2 hp or so.... anyway, check the link for the graphs.

hmmm I never actuallt though they would give you any hp, or if they did it would be minimal 0.7-2.0hp gains are not bad for a Filter, but for the Price they sell these things Id rather invest in a RAI or a CAI will the High flow cones same Price in the end, IMO any way

Thats the thing though, the first set of tests, the Fram beat the K&N by .7hp, second set, the K&N beat the fram by .3 hp. Generally, on the chassis dyno, anything less then .5hp I consider negligable.

The highest number during the tests was a run with the Fram.

Just goes to show that paper is safe, very comparable in power, and actually filters, unlike the K&N style which pass oily dirt into your motor....
