    Default rockets for beginners

I want to learn how to ride a motorbike and i want a croch rocket and i want to learn on a croch rocket, however a friend of mine says it probably safer and better to learn on an old honda motorbike (old cruiser or somethin like that). Anyone have any opinions.

Start on a older bike, or a less powerful bike. It'll be a step up the ladder towards a crotch rocket.

YOu want a "Rocket" for your first bike? What are your reasons for wanting a "Rocket"?

Bikes are not toys. No matter what bike you end up buying, wether its a old bike or a Gixxer 1k, respect it and use your head in regards to the throttle.

    Take evilution's advice take a course....first.

Cruisers are heavier, harder to ride at low speeds. Completly different from a "rocket" as you call it, especially when it comes to cornering.

Take a course, learn on there "rockets' then get maybe a 600.

As knees said, they arnt toys, you have to respect them, or they will bite you in the ass.

hey man, don't learn on a cruiser if your planning to ride a sport bike, you'll be learning all over again, start on the "crotch rocket" you want! why waste money, start with a 600 though, but you MUST take your course! when i took mine i crashed twice! lowspeed and high speed!@# kinda gives you the idea

umm... you never ridden a bike before? Not even on a dirtbike? If so why the hell you even considering a crocth rocket 600 thats silly and if you're looking for something brand new then my advice to you is atleast get something older cause in the winter you'll be kicking yourself that you cant ride it. Besides if you get a 600 and youve never ridden before youll be one of those guys that i luahg at when they get a bike way to big and too much power for them to handle and see them tip it when they're coming to a stop sign. Also if you're only getting the bike for looks ie you only want a crotch rocket[im assum, ing for looks], from the sounds of it you are then you shouldnt even bother getting yourself a bike.

How does too much power = falling over at a stop sign? That can happen to anyone, not just somebody with a sportbike.

ps - stop saying crotch rocket, that is the stupidest term ever and its fucking annoying.

^ yeah but wouldnt you want to fall over at a stop sign on a smaller bike, that dosnt cost much money. Also i personally find smaller bikes easier to control than a bigger bike.
