but yah,i love cars. i came to beyond to learn more about cars at my age, and meet some cool people. but yah,i want a job now so i can start saving up for my car and mods and stuff.
yah,i was considering that for the late spring/summer. but i'm actual looking for a business to work at. but the problem is i think i may be to young. i think there may be a place that would hire me like- petland, maybe at a restaraunt. but i would be at the bottom of the bucket- dishwasher etc.Originally posted by Superesc

Shit, there's only 49 users here, I doubt we'll even break 100
civicLVR props to you for thinking about the future already!
I started working at the age of 13 as well so I've been in the workforce for 8 years!
And don't work yourself too hard, money doesn't build up over a day, if you are smart with your money you can easily have $10K by the time you turn 16!

I'm sure McDonald's will hire you once you're 14. Sure, it's a shit job, but if you get some experience while you're young, later when you're a bit older in a couple years, you'll have hopefullly acquired some experience so that better positions will be available to you. The point is getting some experience that will be useful in later jobs you'll want (ie: customer service, handling money, being trustworthy/ responisible, etc...)
In a couple years when you're 16 or 17, you'll have already gotten a head start compared to many people your age, which puts you in a better position then them.
Hit up Mcdonalds, a restaurant wouldnt suit you, either you work days, which I hope your in school for, or long nights 1 am and on. Why not try two jobs I did that at your age. Newspaper route in the moringing, woull make about $200 a month of that at least and try to get a job at Mcdonalds after school for a couple of hour a night. At your age you still have virtually no expensese and your money would build up quite nicely.
And props to your for joining this board and wanting to join the work force to buy a car. Good on ya.
Skills and determination. I worked Shaw tech support when I was 14 for $12/hr and got a raise to $14/hr six months later.
Determination and guts man, determination and guts, something I have lost since then :|
seems like cars not the only thing he likes by looking at his avitarOriginally posted by Blue Devil 2

i started at age 10 (i tihnk) working as a dishwasher at one of my parents restaurants for a whopping $10/DAY....i eventually negotiated it up to 4 or 5 bucks an hour....then when i turned 14 i went out and got a real job...dishwashing for 6 an hour haha
I started at 12 or 13 i think, digging holes and driving a tractor around at a rich farmers house, $7.50/hr
i guess i'm lucky that way
and now i'm 19 with having a full time good paying job for the last two years minus a six month hiatus
Bus tables on weekends. You'll get a share of the tips from the waiters/waitresses every shift so you always have pocket money.
as bad as working at mcdonalds may sound, it does wonders for your resume in the future. i have actually heard hr guys say that having mcdonalds or wendys on your resume is a great asset because mcdonalds and wendys have 2 of the best training programs around. these are hr guys from big companies like shell.
